About Me: Shin, the Creator of Romantabi
Hi, I’m Shin—the writer, photographer, and traveler behind Romantabi.
I created this blog to share beautiful, romantic, and culturally rich destinations in Japan and beyond, based on my own travel experiences.
Why I Travel
For me, travel is a way to slow down and connect deeply with places, people, and moments.
Whether it’s a quiet shrine in Tokyo or a hidden hot spring in the countryside, I love discovering places that offer peace, beauty, and meaning.
About “Romantabi”
The name "Romantabi" combines the words “romantic” and “tabi” (the Japanese word for travel).
It reflects my passion for exploring places that stir the heart—not just as a couple, but also through solo, soulful journeys.
Let’s Explore Together
Through this blog, I hope to inspire others to find joy in travel, whether alone or with loved ones.
Thank you for stopping by—I’d love for you to explore my travel stories and maybe discover your next favorite destination.
My Personal Journey Through the Years
Childhood: Growing Up in the Countryside
I was born and raised in a small town surrounded by nature. The lush landscapes and seasonal changes instilled in me a deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world.
Teens: Discovering a Passion for Photography
During my teenage years, I developed a keen interest in photography. Capturing moments and landscapes became a way for me to express myself and connect with my surroundings.
Twenties: Exploring Japan's Hidden Gems

In my twenties, I embarked on numerous journeys across Japan, seeking out lesser-known destinations rich in culture and history. These experiences laid the foundation for Romantabi.
Thirties: Sharing Stories Through Romantabi
Now in my thirties, I dedicate my time to documenting and sharing my travel experiences through Romantabi. My goal is to inspire others to explore and appreciate the hidden beauty of Japan.
Forties: Living Fully and Staying Active
Now in my forties, I strive to live a balanced life—cherishing calm, meaningful travel while also embracing physical challenges.
I’ve found new joy in staying active, trying new things, and continuing to grow both personally and creatively.
Recently, I took part in a local relay race—something I never imagined doing before! It was both exciting and empowering.
Check out the video below for a quick look at this memorable moment:
I'm the one wearing the red headband and red spikes on the far right.
My reaction at the start wasn’t bad, but because I had the outermost lane, which is a disadvantage, I briefly dropped to third place.
Still, I kept up well with the others and wasn’t really outpaced in terms of speed!
