By Train (JR Gotemba Line)
Take the JR Gotemba Line to Gotemba Station, then hop on the free shuttle bus — about 10 minutes. From Shinjuku, the Odakyu Romancecar runs a direct express service. Connections from Mishima and Shin-Fuji via bus also work well.
By Highway Bus (Direct from Tokyo / Yokohama)
Direct highway buses run from Tokyo, Yokohama, Shinjuku, and Shibuya. On peak weekends, 80+ buses operate daily — and during congested holiday periods, the bus is honestly the smartest choice.
By Car

■ WHAT WE LOVED
The Mt. Fuji backdrop is no joke. We kept stopping mid-shopping just to stare. The view from EAST ZONE on a clear spring morning was one of the most memorable parts of our entire Japan trip — and we bought a Celine bag too, so it was a solid day all around.
I've been three times now and I come specifically for Prada and Miu Miu. You simply can't find both at the same outlet anywhere else in Japan. Scored a bag at nearly half the regular retail price last visit. Already planning trip number four.
Our kids were obsessed with the merry-go-round in HILLSIDE PLAYGROUND. We could actually shop while they stayed entertained — which is rare. The whole family had a great time, and we didn't feel rushed at all. Would absolutely come back.
Came mainly for Nike and ended up spending three hours there. Found a colorway I'd never seen back home, and the prices were genuinely better than anything I've seen in Europe. The sportswear selection at Gotemba is world-class.
Brought our dog and honestly couldn't believe how welcome he was. Plenty of stores let us in, other shoppers were friendly about it, and the outdoor walkways are spacious. One of the most dog-friendly shopping experiences I've had anywhere in Asia.
I'm a golfer first, shopper second. The golf section here is insane — eight dedicated shops with everything from Callaway drivers to Pearly Gates apparel. Grabbed a full set of irons at a price I couldn't find online. My caddy bag is also from here now. No regrets.
■ THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR
We drove during Golden Week and sat in traffic for over an hour just trying to get into the parking lot. Beautiful outlet, painful entry. If we'd taken the bus we'd have saved ourselves a lot of frustration.
📌 Tip: During Golden Week, Obon, New Year's, and major sale periods, the direct highway bus is genuinely the better option. If you're driving, target Lot P7 — it has a bypass route that avoids the main bottleneck. Check the parking guide for the exact approach.
It's huge. Like, really huge. I tried to cover everything in one day and my feet gave out by 3pm. Lost a solid hour just figuring out which zone had which stores. Wish I'd planned better going in.
