Not sure which bag store to hit first at Gotemba Premium Outlets? You're not alone. With Coach, Loewe, Furla, Samsonite, and a dozen more brands spread across WEST, EAST, and HILL SIDE zones, going in without a plan means two or three hours gone and nothing in your bag.
Walk the grounds and a pattern starts to emerge pretty quickly: the high-end leather brands cluster near the WEST ZONE entrance, casual labels fill the EAST ZONE mid-section, and business and travel bags anchor the far end. Once you've got that mental map, the shopping actually moves fast.
In this guide I've split all 16 bag stores into three categories — High-End, Casual, and Business & Travel — with store locations, price ranges, and the kind of detail you only pick up when you've actually been there. Use it as your cheat sheet before you go.
Gotemba Outlet Bag Stores: The Big Picture

- High-end leather brands — Coach, Loewe, Furla, Tory Burch, and more (mainly WEST ZONE & HILL SIDE)
- Casual picks — Samantha Thavasa, See By Chloé, Tradies (WEST to EAST ZONE)
- Business & travel — Samsonite, Tumi, Zero Halliburton, Briefing (EAST ZONE concentration)
- The biggest sales run twice a year (summer & winter) — plan your visit around them for the deepest discounts
- Grab a coin locker first if you're buying a suitcase or oversized bag — it'll save you hauling it around all day
※ Prices and stock vary by season. Always check each store's official site before visiting.

High-End Bag Stores
Coach

Step inside Coach and the fine-stitched leather handles and embossed C-logo patterns hit you right away. The color palette skews camel, black, and navy — tones that work across just about every age group and personal style.
Signature canvas totes often start in the ¥20,000–¥30,000 range, which is roughly 30–40% off retail. The full-leather handbags are there too, and quality holds up. Set a budget before you walk in — it makes the whole experience more enjoyable.| Brand | Coach |

J&M Davidson
This British label is one of those finds that rewards a little extra walking. J&M Davidson bags have a deceptively simple silhouette — the quality speaks through the leather itself rather than any loud branding. Belt details and understated buckles add just enough personality.

The HILL SIDE store tends to be quieter than WEST ZONE, which makes it easier to take your time. If you want a commuter bag that lasts for years without screaming for attention, this is worth the detour.

Orobianco

Italy's Orobianco combines Limonta nylon with genuine leather — and the result is bags that feel surprisingly light when you pick them up. The sheen is subtle and elegant, not flashy. Men's totes and shoulder bags dominate the floor, so this is one of the few bag stores here where male shoppers will find as much to look at as anyone else.

Furla

Furla's store pops. Cobalt blue, poppy red, candy pink — the color range here is wider than practically any other bag brand in the outlet. That's the Italian label's calling card, and it works. Even a simple tote transforms an outfit when the shade is that deliberate.

Prices typically land in the ¥20,000–¥40,000 range — a step up from Coach but still well below retail.

See By Chloé
See By Chloé launched as Chloé's more accessible second line back in 2001, and it still delivers the same feminine instincts at a friendlier price point. Bohemian stitching, interesting fabric combos, and a slightly softer silhouette distinguish it from the parent brand.

It's the right pick if you want something that reads as a designer bag without the logo doing all the heavy lifting.

Loewe

Loewe has been crafting leather goods in Spain for over 160 years, and the Puzzle Bag alone is worth inspecting in person. The leather smells remarkable. The stitching under store lighting looks better than it does in any photo. You can feel exactly where 160 years of leatherwork tradition went.

Outlet prices typically sit in the ¥100,000–¥200,000 range, so this isn't a budget stop. But being able to examine the actual piece — and confirm it comes with the same warranty as retail — is a real advantage over buying online.

Tory Burch

The double-T logo hardware is everywhere at Tory Burch, but it never feels overdone. The brand lands squarely between casual and elegant — bags that work for a day of sightseeing and a nice dinner without a costume change in between.

Men's totes are in the mix too. Versatility is this label's strong suit, and the outlet pricing makes it one of the better value propositions in the high-end section.

Gianni Chiarini
Gianni Chiarini is one of those Italian labels that doesn't need to shout. The leather is richly colored, the shapes are clean, and the bags feel noticeably lighter than they look. If you want something you can carry all day without your shoulder complaining, this is worth a stop.

It's a label that's well known to Italian fashion insiders but still under-the-radar enough to feel like a find. That's part of the appeal.

Casual Bag Stores
Tradies
Tradies is easy to miss — it runs like an open-air stall along the EAST ZONE walkway, with an informal setup that feels more like a market than a boutique. Don't let that fool you. The selection is curated, the totes and clutches are casual-ready, and the outlet pricing makes it one of the lower-commitment stops on the bag circuit.

Samantha Thavasa

Samantha Thavasa is a Japanese brand with a strong following, and if you're looking for a gift that feels distinctly Japanese in its aesthetic — all hearts, ribbons, and feminine energy — this is your store. The range runs from elegant totes to mini bags that work as evening accessories. At outlet prices, it's also a solid gift option.

Business & Travel Bag Stores
Ace Bags & Luggage

Ace is a Japanese luggage and bag brand that's been around for decades, and you can tell — the attention to functional detail is meticulous. Lightweight, multi-compartment, and built to handle real travel. Business backpacks, commuter bags, and rolling luggage all feature, and the design stays classic enough to work in any professional setting.

Briefing

Briefing is a Japanese brand built on military-grade ballistic nylon, and touching the fabric makes the price point make complete sense. The weave is dense, the metal hardware moves with zero play, and the organization inside any given briefcase is the kind that makes you feel like a more put-together person.

Gotemba is actually a particularly good Briefing stop because the store carries golf-specific lines that you don't always see elsewhere — a nod to the outlet's strong golf community.

Genten
Genten is a quieter Japanese brand focused on sustainable materials and leather that develops character over time. The patina on their bags after a year or two of use is genuinely beautiful — the kind of thing that makes you keep coming back to the same piece. Wallets and small leather goods are also in stock, so you can build a cohesive set.

Samsonite

Samsonite needs no introduction, but the Gotemba store is worth calling out specifically. Medium-size suitcases (around 68L) regularly show up at 40–50% below retail — and you get to spin the wheels and feel the build quality before you commit. That last part matters more than people give it credit for.

Business backpacks and briefcases are here too for anyone who isn't in the market for a new rolling bag.

Zero Halliburton

The aluminum shell catches the light from across the aisle. Zero Halliburton is the suitcase people notice at the baggage carousel. Pick one up and the weight and cold solidity of the aluminum tells you immediately that this is a different category of luggage. Designed for professionals who travel hard — and want their bag to look like it can take it.

Tumi

Open a Tumi briefcase and the organization is immediately obvious — dedicated laptop sleeve, pen pockets, card slots, all in exactly the right places. It's the kind of bag that people who travel for work buy once and keep for a decade. The all-black aesthetic looks sharp in any airport, business class or not.

Visitor Reviews: What Shoppers Are Saying
We found a Coach leather tote at the outlet that was retailing for around ¥60,000 online — picked it up here for ¥35,000. Staff were relaxed and didn't hover, which made it easy to browse properly. We double-checked the same item at home and the outlet price was genuinely lower. Definitely worth the trip from Tokyo.
Bought a Loewe Puzzle Bag here. The staff member spent a good ten minutes explaining the leather characteristics and how it ages — no pressure, just genuinely helpful. Being able to verify that the warranty is the same as a regular Loewe store was the deciding factor for me. This is exactly the kind of purchase that's better made in person.
Came specifically for a Samsonite suitcase. Found the same model I'd been looking at online for ¥10,000–¥20,000 less, and I got to actually test the wheels and zipper before buying. That's worth the extra effort of coming here versus ordering. Second time visiting for luggage — won't be the last.
I was specifically after a Briefing backpack and Gotemba had the best selection I've seen anywhere — multiple colors and sizes side by side, plus the golf caddy line that I wasn't expecting. Ended up spending longer in that store than anywhere else. Already planning a return trip next year.
The WEST ZONE high-end section gets genuinely busy on weekends. Coach and Loewe in particular felt cramped — hard to browse without being in someone's way. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing before you go.
👆 If you can only make it on a weekend, aim for the opening hour (around 10 AM). The high-end stores in WEST ZONE thin out significantly in the first 60–90 minutes before the crowds arrive. Weekdays are noticeably more relaxed across the whole outlet.
Had a specific Furla model in mind and it wasn't in stock. The post-sale period hit inventory hard. Worth knowing that outlet stock turns over constantly — what's there one month may be gone the next.
👆 If you have a specific model or colorway in mind, call ahead or check the brand's official site before making the trip. A quick phone call to the store can save a wasted journey.
We bought a suitcase early and stashed it in a coin locker before touring the rest of the outlet — total game changer. Highly recommend doing that rather than lugging it around. The kids got to move freely too. Facilities are well spread out once you know where things are.

Summary: How to Shop Bags at Gotemba Outlet

- For high-end leather brands — start in WEST ZONE and work through to HILL SIDE. That covers Coach, Loewe, Tory Burch, J&M Davidson, and Gianni Chiarini in one loop.
- For suitcases and business bags — head to EAST ZONE. Samsonite, Tumi, Zero Halliburton, and Briefing are all concentrated there.
- To avoid weekend crowds — arrive at opening (10 AM) or visit on a weekday. The high-end section is much easier to shop when it isn't packed.
- Buying a suitcase or large bag? — locate a coin locker first. There are three locker areas across the outlet. Use one and shop freely.
- Timing your visit around sale season (summer and winter) can stack discounts on top of already-reduced outlet prices.
※ Prices and stock vary by season. Confirm with stores before visiting.
