On the night of our stay at Fantasy Chateau, dinner at "Fantasy Springs Restaurant" was what we'd been looking forward to most. After settling into our room right after check-in, we could barely wait for the 5:00 PM opening — and the moment we reached the entrance, it hit us: we actually got to eat here tonight.
The dining room is themed around three stories — Tangled, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty — with murals, fresh flowers, and chandeliers used generously throughout. It feels less like a buffet restaurant and more like wandering into a ballroom. Even with around 270 seats, each table area carries its own consistent look, so no matter where you're seated, it's a great spot for photos.

This guide walks through our actual dinner buffet experience, from the entrance and interior decor to the seafood, bread, and dessert spreads — all with plenty of photos. Hopefully it's useful whether you're considering a stay at Fantasy Springs Hotel or just want a sense of the restaurant's atmosphere ahead of time.

The dining room draws its theme from Tangled, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty. Murals and framed artwork featuring bluebirds and forest creatures are scattered throughout, and part of the fun is that the view changes depending on where you're seated.
The Entrance: Where the Story Begins
Walking through the entrance, the first thing that greets you is a dome-shaped chandelier stretching across the entire ceiling. Lit in blue, the decor takes on a completely different, more magical character than it does during the day.

▲ A decorative spiral staircase by the window. The curve leading upward felt genuinely elegant.

▲ A chandelier lit in magical blue light — especially beautiful if you arrive in the early evening.

▲ A decorative archway lined with mirrors and windows — we couldn't help but stop for photos here.

▲ A jewel-like, tree-shaped ornament. The level of detail here is genuinely captivating.
Even the corridor leading from the check-in desk into the dining room kept the decor going without a break, continuing seamlessly from the bustling entrance hall.

A Dining Hall Filled with Paintings and Fresh Flowers
On the walk to our table, what caught our eye were the paintings covering the walls, each one rendered like a scene straight out of a story. Our mood was already lifted before we'd even sat down.

▲ A dreamlike painting displayed in the dining hall.

▲ The atmosphere of the dining space, lined with fantastical paintings.
Fresh flower arrangements were scattered between the tables, with the area in front of the fireplace especially eye-catching.

Looking up, a stained-glass dome lets light filter through overhead. Its character shifts depending on the time of day, so it's worth looking up at least once from your seat.

▲ A large floral arrangement set in front of one of the paintings.

The restaurant was nearly full when we visited, but the high ceilings and generous spacing between tables meant we never felt crowded or overheard our neighbors' conversations.

The Seafood & Main Dish Buffet Counter
Once seated, we headed straight to the long marble-look counter. Dishes spanning both Japanese and Western cuisine stretched out ahead of us — genuinely hard to know where to start.

Fresh Seafood Tower & Drinks
The first thing to catch our eye was a seafood tower piled high on ice — heaping with shrimp and shellfish, hard to stop photographing.

▲ Shrimp and other seafood piled on a three-tiered stand.

▲ Fresh seafood arranged on tiered plates.

▲ Staff serving seafood for you. This is reassuring for families with young children, since staff will help portion it out.
The drink menu includes Kirin Ichiban Shibori draft beer (¥1,200) along with wine by the bottle, glass, or carafe — a great pairing with the seafood.

Salads, Soups & Hot Pot Dishes
Beyond seafood, there's a wide variety of colorful salads, small side dishes, and warm dishes finished in cast-iron pans. Despite being a buffet, each dish's presentation still felt genuinely well cared for.

Freshly Baked Bread & the Chefs' Live Kitchen
Personally, the bread station is what excited us the most. Round loaves came out with a beautiful glossy finish, portioned out on the spot by staff with tongs.

A Dessert Buffet That's Hard to Look Away From
And then comes the restaurant's biggest highlight — the dessert counter. Cupcakes, tarts, chocolate confections, and refreshing fruit-based desserts stretch out in a colorful lineup, generous enough that we genuinely wondered if we had room for it all.

▲ Cupcakes elegantly arranged on a tiered stand.

▲ A colorful, eye-catching selection of cakes.

▲ An elegant dessert finished with chocolate sauce.

Something we appreciated in the warmer months was a refreshing green dessert station made with melon. It looked as cool as it tasted, making it a great palate cleanser after dinner.

There's also a good selection of bite-sized mini desserts, perfect if you want to sample a little of everything.

Pastries and croissants also fill a nearby glass case, giving off the feel of browsing a real patisserie's display.

The desserts were clearly built on careful preparation too — watching staff plate individual small cup desserts one by one made it clear just how much attention went into every detail.

▲ Tarts and small cakes arranged on a tiered stand.

▲ A special dessert stand decorated with fresh flowers.
After dinner, we grabbed a hot coffee at the drink stand near the dessert corner — a digital touch-screen machine that fit right in with the restaurant's overall atmosphere, even during the short wait.

Our Honest Take
We sampled the seafood, hot pot dishes, and pasta, and every one of them was carefully seasoned — none of that "plenty of quantity, not much flavor" feeling that can come with buffets. The seafood in particular was kept well-chilled on ice, and the freshness really came through.
The fresh bread had a strong, appealing aroma and would've been satisfying on its own. There were simply too many desserts to try everything, but between the chocolate and melon options alone, our plate quickly piled up.
If there's one thing to flag, it's that during the busiest window (around 7:00 PM), there can be a short wait for seafood or bread to be restocked. We'd recommend arriving right at opening (5:00 PM) or a bit later, after 8:00 PM.
Guest Reviews
The paintings and chandeliers make for such a striking interior. We spent almost as much time taking photos as we did eating.
The seafood tower was impressively fresh, and the ice was topped up regularly. A genuinely satisfying hotel buffet.
There were so many desserts we couldn't decide. The melon dessert in particular was a favorite, both in looks and taste.
There's a kids' menu, and staff were happy to portion out the seafood for us, so it felt manageable dining here with young children.
Staff carefully served the bread and seafood for us, and even the waiting felt comfortable thanks to their attentiveness.
Around 7:00 PM, we had to wait a bit for the seafood to be restocked. Popular dishes seem to draw a small line.
When we visited, there were consistently a few people waiting at the seafood counter too, but staff restocked quickly, so the wait only lasted a few minutes. If you'd rather avoid the busiest window, aim for right at opening, around 5:00 PM.
This is clearly a popular restaurant, and Priority Seating slots seem to fill up fast. Worth booking early once your stay is confirmed.
Priority Seating slots often fill up right when booking opens, so it's worth reserving as soon as your stay dates are confirmed.
