Celebration Hotel Convenience Stores: Hours & What to Buy

After checking in and dropping off my bags, the first place I headed was the hotel convenience store. I only meant to grab a late-night snack and a drink for the next morning, but I was a little confused to find that the store had a different name depending on the building. Here's what you need to know, including that difference.

Two Buildings, Two Store Names

Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel has two buildings, Wish and Discover, and each one has its own convenience store. The names are different, but both are run by Lawson, one of Japan's three big convenience store chains.

Hours and Prices

Both stores are open 6:00 a.m. to midnight. They are not open 24 hours, unlike most convenience stores in Japan, so do your late-night shopping before midnight. According to the official website, they sell rice balls, boxed meals, sandwiches, drinks, snacks and baby products.

They're handy for late-night snacks and getting ready for the next morning, but prices are a little higher, as you'd expect at a resort. For bigger shopping trips, a regular convenience store outside the hotel is worth considering.

Japanese convenience store tips

Try an onigiri (rice ball). The wrapper has numbered tabs: pull 1, then 2 and 3, and the seaweed wraps neatly around the rice. If you buy a boxed meal, the staff will usually ask if you want it heated. Just say "yes, please" or nod.

Cup Noodles

There's a good selection of cup noodles, so late-night hunger is covered. Your room has an electric kettle, so you can make them there.

The legal drinking age in Japan is 20, and the register may ask you to confirm your age when you buy alcohol.
